Anyone know what this is? A pig boiler maybe?

Here's a pic I'm trying to identify. Someone told me it was a "pig boiler" and was worth some money. Is is a pig boiler for pig iron? An Iron puddler? Or a vat for scalding the hair off of pigs. Any responses will be thankfully appreciated.
