This common additive can be used on all sausages to bring out the beautiful rich red color in sausages, hams, hot dogs & bacon.

As the ingredients on our seasonings clearly state additives such as sodium erythorbate, MSG (monosodium glutamate), etc., please check the seasoning mix you are going to add this to and make sure it doesn't already contain sodium erythorbate.  A few examples of seasonings already containing sodium erythorbate that you must not add this to are:

  • Rick's BBQ Jerky Blend

  • Onion & Garlic Jerky Blend

  • Pepperoni Blend

  • Sausage Source German-Style Bologna & Trial Size

  • Smoked Polish (kielbasa)

  • Summer Sausage Blend

  • Garlic Summer Sausage Blend

Usage for sausage, hams, bacon & hot dogs/wieners: Add 1 oz or .06 lb per 100 lbs of meat, or .015 for every 25 lbs of meat.

Usage as a brine for poultry: .75 oz (.045 lbs) to 1 gallon of brine or water
